Bolton Tennis League

20th October 2026

Dear Secretary,

Notice of Motion Meeting – 7.30pm Wednesday, 11th November 2026 at St Margaret's Church Hall, Lonsdale Road, Bolton BL1 4PW

Proposals are here for alterations to the rules.

Clubs is not entitled to propose any more alterations to any of the rules as the deadline has passed. However, amendments may be made to existing proposals up to the end of the Notice of Motion Meeting when we retire to vote at the AGM after further discussion with your clubs. There is no discussion at the AGM, just voting. Clubs who made proposals, please check that they are as you intended. These may change before the NOM as proposers see what others have proposed. So, I would hang on until the week before the meeting when they may be more definite.

Representation from your club is essential at this meeting when all such proposals will be discussed, tweaked, amendments suggested or withdrawn in the light of the discussion. Clubs not represented at the Notice of Motion Meeting will not be allowed to vote on any of the proposed rule changes at the Annual General Meeting. Voting rights are one vote per league provided they are represented by a person at the AGM. Only one person need attend the NOM.

Fines of £10 each are levied for complete non-attendance at both the Notice of Motion Meeting and the Annual General Meeting.

We are always looking for new faces on the Committee. This involves forgetting about your own club, but thinking about the league as a whole. There are around nine, 1-2 hour meetings a year.
